We’re recruiting a Senior Cost Manager for an established construction consultancy looking to grow its Boston team. This is an opportunity for an experienced Cost Manager or Quantity Surveyor who enjoys autonomy, builds strong client relationships and wants to help develop a local cost management offering.

The project portfolio includes commercial developments, life sciences facilities and pharmaceutical manufacturing projects.

The opportunity

You’ll be based in the Boston office as the first dedicated cost professional locally, working alongside project management colleagues while independently managing cost consultancy assignments. If you’re relocating from outside the US and don’t have previous US experience, you’ll first spend a few weeks with the New York team for training and onboarding.

A second cost management hire is planned once you’re in place, giving you the opportunity to help shape the growing team.

Your role will include:

• Delivering cost planning, estimating and budgeting.

• Advising clients on procurement, tendering and contractor selection.

• Managing cost reporting, change control and financial forecasting.

• Building relationships with clients, consultants and contractors.

• Taking ownership of assignments and maintaining high standards of delivery.

About you

You’re an experienced Senior Cost Manager or Quantity Surveyor with a strong consultancy background and commercial project experience. Experience in life sciences or pharmaceutical manufacturing would be particularly valuable.

You’ll need the confidence to work independently, manage competing priorities and represent the cost management service within a small local office.

Location and eligibility

US citizens and candidates with existing US work authorisation are welcome to apply. International applicants may also be considered through available visa routes, including E-2 for eligible British nationals and E-3 for eligible Australian nationals, subject to employer and individual eligibility and visa approval.

Candidates relocating from outside the US without prior US experience will complete a few weeks of initial training in New York before starting in Boston.
