Associate Director - Development Monitoring

We’re working with a leading London construction consultancy looking to appoint an Associate Director within its Development Monitoring team.

The role will initially focus on a major 500,000+ sq ft commercial development in London, currently at early concept design stage, with base-build works expected to commence towards the end of the year.

This is a senior, client-facing position suited to someone who combines strong technical construction knowledge with commercial awareness and the confidence to challenge and advise senior stakeholders.

The Role

You’ll provide senior technical and commercial oversight across a highly complex development, working closely with the client, consultant team and contractors.

The project will involve:

• Base-build development monitoring
• Major façade works
• Complex structural and cut-and-carve interventions
• MEP coordination
• Design management and technical coordination
• Construction methodology and buildability

A key part of the role will be identifying potential issues before they become problems. You’ll need to quickly understand what is happening technically, contractually and commercially, challenge the project team where necessary and provide clear, considered advice to the client.

The Person

You’ll need to be technically credible, commercially astute and confident in front of senior clients.

The successful individual will be comfortable walking into a complicated project environment, understanding the key risks and interfaces, challenging consultants and contractors and advising the client on the appropriate course of action.

You’ll be trusted to operate autonomously while remaining collaborative, working closely with senior leadership and providing guidance to more junior members of the project team.
