The Role

The Head of Quality – Australia is a senior leadership position reporting to the Chief Operating Officer – Australia and the International Head of Quality. You will be responsible for developing and executing a regional quality strategy that aligns with global objectives, ensuring compliance with Australian regulatory standards, and driving continuous improvement across project operations.

This is a high-impact role where you will influence business-critical quality outcomes, lead quality audits, manage regional QA/QC teams, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure world-class delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Strategy & Governance

  • Develop and implement the regional quality strategy aligned with global objectives.
  • Standardise policies, processes, and procedures across Australian operations.
  • Collaborate with the International Head of Quality to ensure global consistency.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with Australian regulatory standards, ISO certifications, and client requirements.
  • Lead risk assessments, quality audits, and regulatory inspections.
  • Maintain and manage all compliance documentation and reporting.

Operational Quality Management

  • Deploy quality management systems (QMS) across regional operations.
  • Oversee QA/QC processes to meet product, service, and operational standards.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to mitigate risks.

Project Operations

  • Partner with project teams to integrate quality into planning, execution, and delivery.
  • Develop and implement standardised quality processes and tools across projects.
  • Provide quality oversight during bids, proposals, and project execution.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead, mentor, and develop regional quality teams and QA/QC professionals.
  • Act as the key liaison between Australian operations and international quality leadership.
  • Build cross-functional collaboration with engineering, supply chain, and operations teams.

Continuous Improvement & Customer Focus

  • Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and other initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce defects.
  • Analyse and monitor quality metrics, sharing insights at a regional and global level.
  • Respond to client feedback to refine processes and enhance customer satisfaction.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Advanced qualifications preferred (e.g. Six Sigma Black Belt, PMP, ISO Lead Auditor).
  • 10+ years’ experience in quality management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within project-driven environments.
  • Proven experience embedding quality in large-scale, complex construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian regulatory frameworks and compliance standards.
  • Skilled in QMS, data analytics, and quality reporting tools.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
