Salary: Up to £60,000 + benefits

Location: Bristol, flexible hybrid available

This is an exciting opportunity for a Development Manager to join an established and leading charitable trust in the UK, dedicated to providing outstanding living environments. Their aim is to create vibrant, supportive communities where people can live well, their way.

The Development Manager's focus is to deliver a development programme, to maximise the functionality and commercial opportunities, with the Trust's existing sites.

In addition, this role will lead on the identification of new development opportunities, for the Trust, creating effective partnerships with wide-ranging stakeholders, and preparing business cases for strategic opportunities.

About you

  • Proven experience in planning, design, and delivery.
  • Experience of delivering new developments projects to PC / handover and of managing construction programmes, contractor procurement.
  • Knowledge of related legislation: Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, planning and building regulations.
  • Experience in a Development Manager's role as a principal or an equivalent position in a development consultancy environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of development management experience.
  • RICS qualified preferred but not essential.
  • Understanding of residential developments and the care industry.
  • Experience of developing effective gateway reports, business cases and engaging effectively at executive board level, in complex organisations.

About the role

  • Support the development of a development plan for the Trust's existing sites.
  • Build and support a network of trusted development partners, to identify development opportunities, in line with the Trust's growth strategy.
  • Manage and negotiate the acquisition, planning, design, and construction aspects of the Trust's development projects, from inception to successful handover.
  • Be responsible for the development budget and programme.
  • Advise on all "client-side" requirements, for all development projects, from business case, through to handover.
  • Monitor and report on progress of works, identifying risks in the delivery of priorities and implementing timely resolution of issues, to ensure appropriate reallocation of time, finance and effort to enhance the service.
  • Maintain excellent communication with the project teams and internal stakeholders to ensure relevant information is correctly shared and circulated, and all actions are progressed in a timely manner.
