Learning & Development Manager, Pure Data Centres Group

Katie Shering is the Learning & Development Manager at Pure Data Centres Group, where she leads development initiatives that support both operational and corporate teams. With a background in training coordination across logistics and data centre environments, Katie has built her career around enabling people to grow, perform and thrive. Over the past four years at Pure, she has progressed from Training Coordinator to L&D Manager, stepping into increased responsibility and shaping internal development programmes, including the Ignite development programme and the company’s mentoring initiatives.

Katie’s own career journey has been shaped by strong mentorship. Having benefited significantly from internal mentoring support, she understands first-hand the impact that encouragement, challenge and belief can have on confidence and progression. Overcoming imposter phenomenon and building self-assurance has been central to her growth, and she is passionate about helping others navigate similar experiences.

Her mentoring style is empathetic, practical and focused on sustainable performance. As a mental health advocate and trained Mental Health First Aider, Katie places strong emphasis on wellbeing, time management and realistic productivity. She supports mentees who are juggling multiple responsibilities, struggling to say no or looking to build healthier, more effective working habits. Her coaching often centres on building confidence, delegation, personal branding, and navigating workplace dynamics with clarity and assertiveness.

Katie is particularly interested in supporting early-career professionals, especially those exploring pathways into L&D or HR. She brings practical insight into career planning, networking and stepping outside of comfort zones, helping mentees define clear goals and map realistic steps towards achieving them. Her experience engaging diverse and sometimes challenging teams has given her strong interpersonal awareness and adaptability in her approach.

Mentees working with Katie will gain structured development thinking, tools to manage time and energy effectively, and the confidence to progress with purpose. Her supportive and grounded approach ensures that individuals feel heard, encouraged and equipped to take meaningful steps in their professional journey.
