Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Manager - Data Centres Location: London Salary: £80,000 - £100,000 + package Capstone have partnered with a Global Data Centre Developer, who are looking to recruit a Health, Safety and Environment Manager to be based at their London campus, supporting leadership and management with implementing all HSE processes and procedures. The HSE Manager will monitor processes and procedures to provide effective due diligence and legislative compliance. Responsibilities: Providing key management information to drive HSE improvements. Maintain compliance with all current and new HSE legislation. Maintain working relationships with consultants, principal contractors, auditing bodies and professional agencies to ensure the organisation complies with its statutory obligations. Understands the application of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and other legislation relevant to the Companies business, and relevant to the applicable countries of operation. Keeps up to date with changes in current legislation and to bring to the attention of the Director for any relevant new legislation. Attends such courses/seminars run by external sources to enable accurate interpretation of legislation to enable implementation within the organisation. Ensures that all "assessments" as required by legislation are conducted and reviewed at relevant intervals and to maintain records of the same. Recommends control measures and advise on the standard of PPE issued to employees. Conduct health and safety inspections and prepare reports of Principal Contractors, Fit Out Contractors, and Suppliers, during the tender and construction phases. Immediately contacts the Director if situations are found, that in the opinion of the HSE Manager, require immediate rectification or the stopping of any operation. Notifies the HSE Director if the corrective action agreed after any workplace inspection is not implemented by the arranged date. Bring any new techniques for improving health, safety, environment, and wellness to the attention of the HSE Director. Working Hours are 0800hrs to 1700hrs this includes one hour lunch break. As a senior member of the London Campus team there may be times working beyond the normal working week maybe required. This time will be compensated as agreed with the London Campus Project Director. Environmental Manager (Data Centre Construction)

Environmental Manager - Data Centres London £70,000 - £100,000 + package Capstone have partnered with a leading global multi-disciplinary real estate consultancy, who are looking to recruit an exceptional Environmental Manager. The postholder will be embedded into a leading blue-chip tech client, responsible for the Environmental Management of major data centre construction projects. Role purpose: The Environmental Manager should be a suitably qualified environmentalist with 5-10 years experience and a strong background in site supervision of schedule-focussed construction sites. The environmental manager will form part of the client construction manager's team and be responsible for all tech clients' builds in-country; to this end the level of time required will depend on the number of projects and their schedule. The environmental manager will report into the tech clients' regional environmental lead. They will provide support to the construction manager's team, peer review the GCs documentation to ensure all environmental risks are captured. Prior to handover, they will provide handover support to tech clients' Operations Team to ensure sufficient understanding of permit and legislative requirements. They will promote good environmental management as a key aspects of all site works. A knowledge of the local working language is preferred to enable them to engage with site staff with ease. As such, the following responsibilities are expected of the Environmental Manager: Provide comments on the GC method statements, the construction environmental management plan, process and procedure to ensure that all environmental risks and mitigated are considered appropriately Undertake appropriately timed reviews of all permits on site to ensure they are appropriate for construction and operations as per the design Perform regular site walkovers with the site manager, the GC E&S person and agree corrective actions and identify good practice and good approaches Comment on and approve the GCs monthly written reports to the client Work closely with the H&S staff to address any collaborative risks Attend site/client meetings as required Provide a strong client presence on site, working with and supporting the GC E&S staff. Where bad practice is spotted or high risk work is being undertaken, the E&S site manager should be confident to step in. Permit and residual risks from during design and construction will be identified within a risk register. Provide the DC operations manager, local operational H&S representatives and CEOM (critical environment ops manager) with E&S support for interpreting environmental and social aspects of the project and permits.
