Principal Civil Engineer - Civils / Earthworks

You will Undertake design from front end feasibility, through stages of concept and detail, applying infrastructure, engineering standards and system specifications to designs, developing and producing relevant electrical engineering designs and associated documentation, ensure clients' principles and standards are met through the supervision of project staff, review deliverables, performing checks & verification on produced designs to ensure compliance with technical and quality assurance standards, align projects with or exceeding client expectations, check they are sustainable and within the agreed budget, and delivered on or ahead of schedule and with minimal risk to the health and safety of people About You Your degree and high level of technical capacity will enable you to gain AEO competency approval, being well versed in both AC & DC in all rail formats. You will have project managed design teams and have well-honed team mentoring and advisory skills, be conversant with the electrical ASA Standards and ideally familiar with other interstates/international electrical standards, have knowledge of relevant codes of practice, standards, policy, procedures and guidelines relating to Railway OHW in NSW, hold good Knowledge and experience in IEC61850 to undertake high-level problem solving relating to OHW, have experience in working with HV AC Protection System in the Australian Rail Industry, be well versed with SCADA systems, have experience providing technical input in to tenders, or ideally, experience in wider forms of client-facing and business development activity, ideally appreciate digital engineering, with any knowledge and experience in the use of BIM/3D modelling software and processes, looked upon favourably. The Opportunity We have a very well regarded NSW Environmental Leader, and a switched-on, yet junior support cast. With a team led and executive supported plan for growth, we have a mandated need for a lynch pin; a switched on Environmental Planner, to mentor the juniors and assist in connecting their work with external requirements. This is a role that allows for a person who likes leading projects, yet not necessarily enjoying being bogged down in direct, day to day operational / team leadership. About You You will need a recognised Environmental degree, eligibility for Full Membership of Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand, a solid working knowledge of Australian environmental planning, approvals and management, skills managing and leading multi-disciplinary projects teams, an established understanding of and ability to interpret and apply Commonwealth and NSW planning and environment legislation to a wide range of projects and activities, experience in preparing and reviewing a range of environmental impact assessments including identifying planning approval pathways, specialist/technical studies required to support development proposals, coordinating consultants and reviewing specialist reports and plans, clear and concise written communication and report writing skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The Remuneration The team is extremely high performing and there is the chance to learn from some of the most experienced people in the industry. To attract a high performer who wants to progress even further, a salary package approaching $200,000 is able to be negotiated.
