The Role
You will manage and direct a team of Digital Systems Integration experts to deliver system specifications, variations, design approval, interface specifications and acceptance of sub-systems. This will include European Train Control Systems Level 2, Automatic Train Operation and Traffic Management Systems, Trackside, Onboard, Fixed Telecoms Network and a Digital Train Radio System.
This is the pivotal engineering role in leading and directing the development, delivery and acceptance of the portfolio of engineering systems for a TfNSW.
As a key person of the consultancy's Australian leadership, you will create & deliver a programme of work in line with business requirements and customer expectations.

Reporting to the Programme Director, you will

  • Establish, provide guidance on and interpret technical requirements for compliance with statute, system design, national and international standards and industry practice including the identification and recommendation of ways to reduce system costs and reduce construction time.
  • Provide leadership and direction of implementation of all rail systems, through leading and directing the Digital Systems Integration team to achieve business and functional objectives and meet key project milestones and performance objectives.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the planning and implementation ensuring projects are completed within prescribed timeframes and budgets.
  • Contribute to the development of project requests for proposal (RFPs)
It is envisaged that you will have a strong background in managing major rail projects and operating in complex environments to successful completion on time and within budget.
With experience during the development and entry into service phase of new rail infrastructure, it is critical you have specific experience in an executive position rail projects specifically in communications and signalling, in particular, ETCS Level 2.
With the  ETCS L2 sub-systems, it is important you have knowledge of all of some of the (trackside, onboard, FTN, DTRS, ATO or TMS)

With relevant professional and academic qualifications, you will need demonstrable experience that enables you to develop strategies to support the strategic network needs; monitoring the contribution of infrastructure systems to organisational success.
