Senior Project Manager

TITLE: SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

LOCATION: EAST LONDON

PACKAGE: £80,000 - £90,000 pa + company benefits & bonus

Capstone have partnered with a special purpose vehicle set up specifically to manage a 20 year construction program within the highways sector. Part of the programme is two major bridge replacement projects which are two of the most significant highways projects over the last 50 years.

This role is a client side strategic lead in the delivery of complex highway infrastructure projects, from inception through to handover. Acting as client, the role will primarily consist of contract, sub-contractor, commercial and stakeholder management, ensuring the safe and successful delivery of major infrastructure projects within the agreed time, quality and cost parameters. Projects value circa £20m - £50m.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the overall management and performance of the project including planning, design, construction, programme controls and monitoring, ensuring the project is delivered to time, budget and specification
  • Working with the in house commercial team to formalise and implement NEC contracts with all parties
  • Commercial management of the project including managing budgets and creating budget reports with the support of the commercial team
  • Managing the tender process and the engagement and appointment of main works contractors (Principal contractors and Principal Designers)
  • Managing the NEC contract throughout all phases of the project managing all contractual correspondence including early warnings, compensation events and change
  • Stakeholder management including Transport for London, London Boroughs and local members of parliament
  • Developing reports for the COO and the company Board of Directors on project progress, as required

Key requirements:

  • Degree educated in a relevant field; Project Management, Construction, Engineering
  • Relevant professional accreditation; MRICS, MCIOB or other relevant institution
  • Experience in delivering multi million pound infrastructure and highways projects.
  • 10 years' experience working as a Project Manager for consultancies or client side organisations.
  • Strong understanding of NEC contracts.
  • Demonstrable experience of relevant stakeholder management in similar projects.
