A family run property business based in North London is recruiting a Property Assistant to support a lean and very busy team managing a large portfolio of commercial tenants within their busy workspace & studio operation, as well as a portfolio of residential properties consisting of multi-unit apartments and single dwellings. The working environment is warm, friendly and very loyal. They have supported all tenants through the pandemic and have continued to be 100% let, they haven't had to make any redundancies or furlough staff and they are fortunate enough to be very financially stable. With ambitious plans to acquire and develop more properties this is an exciting time to establish yourself and develop your skills with the potential of working closely with the key decision maker regarding the future of the company.

Key responsibilities of the role are:

  • Liaising with existing and future tenants within the workspace & studio business
  • Preparing leases for new tenants and lease renewals for existing tenants
  • Providing administrative support, alongside other members of the team
  • Be responsible for the yearly accounting schedule
  • Manage quarterly invoices for all commercial tenants
  • Manage and check all monthly payments received from all residential tenants
  • Follow up any late payments, although very rare
  • Liaison with tenants for Property Management issues and communicating with the internal maintenance team
  • Keeping on top of business rates and reporting back to the owner
  • Liaison for all utilities

About you:

  • Highly motivated and energetic approach to the workplace
  • Friendly and social approach, with a down to earth style
  • Experience within a property environment is beneficial but not essential
  • A keen interest in the property sector and a long-term career approach
  • Strong IT skills (Microsoft and various rent packages)
  • Ambition to develop within the business, the owner's children do not wish to progress the company further and he is looking for someone to step in and support the future of the organisation
  • An appetite to do more than just the day to day, a pro active approach
  • Excellent organisation and prioritising ability
