When I received the call to take the brief for this role, I was genuinely excited.

Why, well because I first met this organisation and the great people behind it over 10 years ago, and the team members i introduced them to way back then, have gone on to shape and grow the business to the enviable position that they are in today!

So let me tell you more about this organisation and the opportunity that Capstone is exclusively offering.

This organisation is highly diverse. They have been successful in many lines of business - of which Property is one. They have a philanthropic side to them, but are also highly entrepreneurial. They challenge their people, but also welcome being challenged back!

Their property portfolio is the culmination of many years of acquisitions, redevelopments and developments. Spanning mostly the eastern seaboard, it predominantly consists of a number of smaller shopping centres, but also bulky goods centres, office space, childcare, industrial, hospitality and a small number of residential sites. There is also an impressive development pipeline, with several projects well under way, which will join the existing portfolio in the near future.

As National Property Manager, you will head up and manage the small team overseeing these assets in multiple states, which includes centre management, facilities management, leasing and lease administration. You will be responsible for ensuring that the properties are performing, vacancy is minimal and oversee any capex. You will provide advice to the Directors of the business on all things property, including acquisitions, expenditure, leasing deals and staffing, and last but not least report back on the financials and the performance of the portfolio.  You will work with various internal and external stakeholders to achieve set outcomes.

Given the diversity of the role and the portfolio you will be managing, the ideal applicant will have a strong retail background gained from the landlord side, but will also have gained exposure to other property types. You will have strong negotiation skills gained from leasing experience, financial acumen and have led a property team. This is NOT a role for those stepping up, but rather one for a seasoned professional wanting to impart their knowledge on this business to continue to develop it.
