I am recruiting on behalf of a leading construction and real estate consultancy looking to bolster their established London-based Building Surveying Team. Nationally renowned as 'market-leading' for the sectors in which they operate, they have grown by over 30% over the past 12 months; with a diverse, impressive and ever-expanding portfolio of clients, this growth is due to continue.
This assignment is for a Building Surveyor to join a new specialist division for my client; namely the 'expert witness and dispute resolution' team. This is subsequently a fantastic growth opportunity to support the incumbent, highly respected Director, and work on a variety of residential and commercial properties focusing within the L&T sphere.
This assignment would suit a confident Building Surveyor who is not afraid of working hard and supporting senior members of the team; in return you will be rewarded with fantastic APC support and great opportunity for growth within a fast-paced and sociable environment.
You will be working broadly across the commercial and residential sectors, with clients ranging from developers, lenders and managing agents. You will be covering a broad spectrum of building surveying services, this will include:
- Specification writing
- License to alter
- Planned preventative maintenance
- Defect analysis
- Contract administration
You should also be comfortable undertaking the following on an ad hoc basis:
- Project Monitoring and Technical Due Diligence
- Carrying out schedules of dilapidations, for both landlord and tenant and negotiating settlements.
- Assist with Party Wall and expert witness advice.
A successful candidate:
- Commercial/ residential experience is preferred
- Must be client facing and have and enthusiastic
- Have a relevant degree (Building Surveying) and have minimum 3 years' experience.
The successful candidate will be punchy and ambitious. You should be able to carry-out work to the highest of standards, meanwhile operate in an autonomous and responsible capacity. You should have an excellent eye for detail and have a professional nature.
