Director of Property Services

Position: Director of Property Services

Salary: Up to £75,000 plus benefits

Location: Central London, some flexible hybrid available

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role ensuring this extensive portfolio is equipped and empowered through specialist advice and effective property services. The Director of Property Services is a wide-ranging role with overall responsibility for property and land assets that need to be developed and managed. The post holder will also contribute to the strategic development of the estate in line with the vision and strategy of the organisation.

About you:

  • Ideally MRICS qualified with a minimum of 5 years' relevant experience.
  • Ability to lead, inspire and manage a team.
  • Strong relationship building skills and a mature approach to working with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Previous experience of developing and maintaining effective third-party relationships.
  • Experience of Landlord & Tenant legislation, including rent review, lease renewal and termination processes.
  • Responsible, accountable and professional.

About the role - as the Director of Property Services, you will:

  • Always have a comprehensive overview of the department's activities, its strategic and operational development and risks, including making recommendations regarding the cost-effective deployment of property across the portfolio in line with the property strategy.
  • Review key Performance indicators and to be able to brief the portfolio Secretary, Trustees and others including the provision of reports to Trustee meetings.
  • Ensure that the policies underpinning property work are understood and adhered to by the property services team.
  • Manage the dynamic of landlord and tenancy work through the Residential property manager.
  • Work with the Director of Finance to contribute to the 5 year and longer-term financial planning to maximise revenue from tenancies and investment properties.
  • Contribute to and take responsibility for the implementation of the Action plan for carbon net zero in relation to property, working with the Building Surveyor and Director of Finance to ensure plans are viable
  • Be accountable for the effective management of the diocesan property services team.
