Commercial Lead | Energy Connections

The Commercial Lead is responsible for ensuring a commercial focus with all external parties requiring connection to Transmission and Distribution Networks within Australia, with a view to provide timely and effective commercial network services.

This role is responsible for:

  • Customer interface for commercial solutions to external customers in relation to connection enquiries/applications within Victoria to meet customer expectations
  • Management of commercial solutions on behalf of Commercial Energy Services – Infrastructure Services to meet internal and external customer expectations
  • Providing an interface between internal and external customers and Network Engineering for the delivery of technical solutions in a timely and efficient manner to meet customers’ expectations
  • Responding to contestable tenders in a timely and cost effective manner that is consistent with available facts, constraints and probable consequences
  • Commercial negotiation and contract administration that are value accretive for the business and provide value for Customers
  • Compliance with all key tender requirements to ensure conformance
  • Within the delegated structure and the business policy and guidelines the Commercial Lead has freedom to be independent in decision making and is expected to meet a high level of autonomy, demonstrating initiative and exercising a high degree of skill and independent judgement on commercial matters.

You Will have:

  • Ability to manage the negotiations of major load and market generation connections;
  • Ability to undertake independent problem solving and managing issues to resolution for assigned project work;
  • Undertake independent planning and completion of work without detailed supervision;
  • Ability to influence people to achieve required results;
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills to obtain co-operation or assistance around well-defined issues, to exchange information and discuss technical, commercial or administrative issues and communicate with counterparts in other divisions, subordinates, peers and management, and external customers and suppliers;

  • Ability to see big picture and manage expectations;
  • Commercial and financial acumen;
  • Extensive knowledge of NERs as it relates to Network connections;
  • End to end project management experience;
  • Working within complex organisations & multi-disciplinary teams;
  • Ability to prepare written submissions on technical or commercial issues;
  • Recognise and act upon present opportunities or address current problems, generating solutions or recommendations;
  • Broad understanding of engineering design & delivery.
An Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent with 5+ years of experience.
