Position: Associate Director (Brand new state of the art hospital development)

Location: Home Counties (remote or project based working)

Salary: £70,000 to £85,000 plus bonus & benefits

The UKs leading Project Management company are recruiting an Associate Director level Project Manager to lead the delivery of a brand-new state of the art hospital, a major green field development with significant infrastructure and social interfaces. Currently the team are preparing an outline business case which this role will support, and the initial focus will be to manage the design team and substantial town planning application.

Role & responsibilities

  • Manage the project team to meet defined objectives
  • Motivate and organise the team
  • Identify stakeholders and manage their influence on the project
  • Keep client regularly appraised and report to board level
  • Set overall project programme for each major phase of work
  • Work with specialist planners to produce a master programme
  • Interrogate construction schedules, and identify opportunities for acceleration and improved efficiency
  • Manage the design team, review design programme and support client review
  • Manage all value engineering exercises
  • Manage the cost related processes, procurements exercises & processes and work collaboratively with cost managers and contractor teams
  • Monitor contract progress against programme, compliance and administer construction

About you

  • A construction related background and training
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Experience of solving complex issues on major construction projects which are heavily serviced (hospitals, laboratories, data centres etc)
  • Experience of design, procurement, and construction phases
  • Experience of package procurement
  • Experience of administering contracts (NEC/ECC)
  • Experience of working with tier 1 contractors
