 Matt  Cary  is  a  Founder  and  Director  of  Capstone.  He  leads  the  Cost  and  Commercial  Management  teams  delivering  assignments  for  Construction,  Consultant  and  Developers  in  London,  regionally  and  internationally. Matt  graduated  in  business  from  Bournemouth  University  and  experienced  early  success  in  his  recruitment  career  at  an  executive  search  firm  in  Mayfair.  Three  years  on  Matt  joined  a  global  real  estate  business,  where  he  met  his  current  business  partners,  as  well  as  the  non-executive  directors  of  Capstone,  Dominic  Judd  and  Mark  Farris.

With  12  years’  experience  as  a  recruiter,  Matt  is  a  frontrunner  on  the  sales  floor  and  is  passionate  about  developing  consultants  into  high  performers.  He  enjoys  the  delivery  aspect  of  the  role  as  much  as  strategically  advising  companies  on  their  expansion  plans.  Matt  loves  the  travel  his  role  allows;  from  meeting  candidates  and  clients  in  EMEA  and  America  to  visiting  Capstone’s  Sydney  office.  He  also  enjoys  celebrating  the  success  of  Capstone’s  top  performers  with  trips  to  places  like  South  Africa  and  Miami  and  attending  industry  events  such  as  MIPIM  in  Cannes  and  BCO.

Senior Cost Manager

Capstone are working exclusively with one of the U.K's most successful cost and project management consultancies. The role will involve developing a major London landmark into a residential development and will suit someone who wants to work autonomously and be rewarded based on merit. Key responsibilities and duties: Responsible for liaising with all external and internal stakeholders to enable the project to progress without delay, ensuring that all reasonable requests are met in a timely efficient manner; To assist in the preparation and verification of pricing models, estimates and cost plans from first principals for mixed-use, residential, leisure associated projects of moderate complexity, and can obtain, extract and use existing prices / rates, together with obtaining cost data from industry recognised benchmarks to price schemes; Interfaces with the senior project managers, project managers and planners to deliver professional and competent advice and support, to ensure that the projects are managed in accordance with the contract, and meeting the required reporting deadlines; Responsible for managing and reporting change control procedures within each specific contract and ensuring that they are adhered to by all parties; Reviews main contractors, including subcontracts, and identifies where clauses are in breach of partner policies and guidelines, making recommendations to achieve compliance.
