Job title: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Northampton

Salary: up to £55,000

Capstone has partnered with a leading project and cost management consultancy that offers services for a wide range of commercial and residential projects. Our client has grown organically and established a solid standing in warehouse and logistics, retail, residential and mixed-use development, office, and private residential sectors.

This organisation is looking to develop their cost management expertise at their Northampton office and are seeking strong quantity surveyors experienced in handling projects related to logistics, distribution, and data centres.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversees the execution of large and intricate projects, holding accountability for controlling project expenses.
• Ensures the provision of precise cost estimates, bills of quantities, contract documents, and reports.
• Performs audits, cost checks, and reviews for construction and facilities management contracts.
• Engages directly with clients to address their needs and concerns.
• Takes charge of the bid process and engages in business development activities.
• Allocates resources for assigned tasks, provides supervision to the team, and monitors internal costs.
• Supervise junior staff on a daily basis.
• Conducts and leads Design Team meetings, offering reports and advice on matters related to cost control.

Key Requirements:

• Ideally Chartered Surveyor, Member of RICS
• Demonstrated success in a Quantity Surveying role within a consultancy
• Experience working on projects within logistics, distribution, and data centres sectors
• Comprehensive knowledge of key standard building contracts, such as JCT and NEC3
• Direct experience in interacting with clients
• Proficiency in overseeing daily programming and planning activities
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills
