The role & responsibilities

  • Making sure that everyone involved in their projects goes home safely every day and ensures the team follow current legal and company requirements
  • Developing, documenting and challenging the Project Brief; take nothing at face value, and apply your skills and experience to ensure the brief is right
  • Maintaining the Project Process, Toolkit and Tracker as it applies to projects
  • Effectively managing project costs; identifying financial risks, ensuring projects come in under Budget
  • Effectively managing project programmes; ensure projects come in on time and risks are identified early and managed
  • Managing project quality; ensure that colleagues are entirely satisfied with the outcome
  • Work closely with IT as part of the virtual team, so that technical infrastructure requirements are considered from the outset and implemented accordingly
  • Ensure the effective handover to the Service teams or colleagues, as appropriate, on completion of a project
  • Provide guidance and advice on potential new buildings, Due Diligences, lease and L&T technical support, M&As, etc
  • Lead on change management where this applies to all projects
  • Support the leadership of a team that works closely with your colleagues in the business in order to envision and create leading-edge flexible workplaces that support the different types of work that people do
  • Ensuring the successful delivery of projects directly as a Project Manager; getting directly involved when needed to support peers and colleagues

About you

  • Working towards or recently achieved an accredited relevant construction professional qualification (MCIOB, MAPM, RICS, RIBA)
  • Between 2-7 years construction Project Management experience
  • Preferably experience acting as a provider of professional Programme or Project Management advisory services
  • A knowledge of UK construction legislation, regulations and code
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, presentation and creative skills
  • High standards, taking great pride in your work
  • Able to see the bigger picture, yet also very detail-focussed
  • A natural collaborator, enjoys working with and through others to get the job done
  • Passionate about thinking differently and seeing great concepts translated into reality

This position would suit a Project Manager, Building Surveyor or Cost Manager currently working within a multi-disciplinary construction or real estate consultancy environment, who has either recently achieved a professional qualification or is working towards one. Workplace experience would be great but some practical experience in complex environments, no matter what the asset class, is of more importance.
