PROPERTY ACCOUNTANT

Location: Central Manchester

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum

Capstone have partnered with a leading international property investment and development company with a focus on commercial real estate who are looking to resource an highly diligent client-side Property Accountant. The postholder will be responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient property accounts for an expanding portfolio of commercial assets. This will include the production of statements, invoices, financial reports, service charge accounting and wider liaison with the company's finance department.

With a current portfolio value of c.£250m and the intention to expand to £1bn over the next 5 years, with investments in major UK cities, this is an exciting time to join!

Key Accountabilities

• Undertake all core estate accounting tasks.
• Ensure compliance with internal accounting, legal and RICS regulations.
• Co-ordinating accounting matters for the managed portfolio such as tenant account management, debtors, and financial analysis
• Processing of tenant charges
• Service charge accounting management.
• Accounts payable and credit control on an interim basis
• Suggesting improvements and changes to processes
• Assisting property and facilities managers with finance-based matters relating to the managed portfolio
• Adhering to internal deadlines

Person Specification

• Experienced property client/service charge accountant and wider accounting knowledge
• Demonstrable record in a similar role within the commercial property/real estate industry
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Effective communication and written skills
• Ability to maintain and build strong business relationships.
• Ability to problem solve with elevated levels of diligence.
• Confidence and ability to discuss technical matters directly and independently.
• Organised collaborator with a 'can do' approach.
• Able to demonstrate adaptability and lateral thinking.
• Confident knowledge of practices within this sector
• Experienced in Microsoft packages to at least intermediate level.
• Qube/Yardi/Tramps experience would be ideal.
• AAT or equivalent would be an advantage.
