Position: Senior Development & Asset Manager

Salary: Up to £80,000 plus bonus & benefits 

Location: London, flexible hybrid available 

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Development and Asset Manager to join a specialist company in the investment, development, and asset management of energy projects. They have significant experience in the structuring, formation, procurement, delivery and successful operation of energy systems and energy projects, including on-site generation of heat, cooling, and power for real estate. This includes (but is not limited to) delivery of the strategy, development, and asset management of projects.

About you:

• Have strong experience in a relevant role (in energy or real estate) such as - development management, project management, asset management, operational or strategic consultancy.
• Have strong contractual understanding of the development process and construction / operational contracts and have experience in negotiating relevant contracts.
• Understand project management, the processes required to deliver complex projects, and be able to clearly explain / present these project management processes to a wide variety of stakeholders / users.
• Sound working knowledge of ESG, and key energy strategies as applied to real estate and decentralised energy.
• Be able to present and explain complex ideas and identify solutions to our clients.
• Have strong commercial and contract management experience, in particular:
• Have outstanding client-facing skills, being able to engage with, and build a strong rapport with a range of individuals - including clients, project team members, funders, contractors etc.
• Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
• Have proven experience of leading teams to deliver projects, including the development of other team members.
• Have a proactive and enthusiastic approach, with a positive attitude and a drive for high standards.

About the role:

• Management of the scope and delivery of the key outputs required in our role of helping to develop decentralised energy projects and heat networks.
• Management of client requirements through positive and proactive client engagement - including regular client updates, meetings, and reports.
• Engaging with client or wider project teams and inputting into specifications and strategies in relation to decentralised energy provisions.
• Identifying key risks to energy operation during the development, design and delivery stages.
• Managing the procurement and execution of operational contracts with service providers (such as ESCo / O&M / M&B / data contracts etc).
• Setting up the asset management of energy networks and/or energy supply responsibilities to hand over to the Asset Management Team.
• Understanding and developing budgets and cashflows for energy supplies or projects.
• Keeping up to date with regulatory changes and technological innovation, ensuring this knowledge is cascaded to the team.
